I haven't forgotten about these. Ok, yes I had.
But I plan on starting them back up to allow parents who weren't at the gathering & students who missed the gathering to read a little about what happened at Impact!
- I think it was fitting that we talked about how God uses but children to allow his kingdom to forcefully advance, on the night that I was almost trembling because my stomach hurt so bad. I can't describe it any other way- the teaching time was a fog...I pray the Spirit said what He wanted!
- Luke 10:1-24. I see something new every time I read it.
- Hosea 11 changes everything.
- The closing reality of this series: God is relentlessly pursuing you. It's evidenced by the first three words out of the mouth of God that echoed through the Garden after His creation was cowered in shame after thinking something could fulfill them more than himself: "Where are you?" Those three words echo throughout the Earth even today. 1 Peter declares that God desires that no one would perish. He is running after you. He is not letting go. He won't relent until He has your all. It's what you were created for.
- It was amazing to have parents join us tonight, even if just to get a glimpse into how a "normal" night at Impact looks like- if there is such a thing.
- Don't forget to sign up for Winter Retreat by Feb. 14 for the Early Bird price. The sign-up form is at the Trinitywired site.
- Last reminder- we don't have Wednesday night Impact next week. We'll see you from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 for The Ultimate.
1. I said this last night, but it truly never gets old to see Jesus move and do His thing.
1. Philippians 3:7-11. Could change everything for you. "You study the scriptures because you think in them you possess eternal life, but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life."
1. Revelation 3. No commentary needed: Would God say He wants to spit you out of His mouth?
I'm not completely myself tonight...not feeling so hot, so I doubt my thoughts will be too profound or too plentiful. But I'll give it a shot...
Just a few thoughts after an amazing night at Impact:
- I love middle school students. They are some of the most real and exciting people I know.
- I love it when God speaks to a person's heart- it is undeniable. Thanks to a 7th grade girl for reminding me of this tonight.
- I overheard a kid say, "This was a pretty intense night, deeper than I thought it would be. But I'm shocked I had so much fun." I love the fact that we believe students can embrace hard truths and not be scared away.
- Dodge ball is still fun...even when you get hit in the face.
- Everyone of our middle school students who are missing Impact for sports (which I recently found out is at least 50 kids!!!) - you're missing out. Make it a priority to be here.
- If you are missing out on Wednesday nights just because of fear, or because you didn't connect with anyone last Wednesday or you don't know anyone...stop running from what God wants to do in your life. Get here next week for our wrap-up of the WE series. You don't want to miss it!
- We had real and honest conversation around what it might look like to live in true, vulnerable community at Impact...beautiful stuff.
- There is already excitement around our Summer Mission Trips in 2010. WOW! For those of you who have asked- the applications will be available in November.
- I love doing what I do!
I think that's about it...ok there is a ton more, but that's it for now!
You are dearly loved. Keep running to Jesus.
Note: Ok, yes I stole this idea from Perry Noble, but I have a feeling I would have done something like this anyway! And yes I plan to do this after every Crosswalk as well.
